New Writing and Directing Team Board 'Ouija'

Juliet Snowden and Stiles White, the writing duo behind Lionsgate's upcoming horror THE POSSESION have signed to write and direct the low-budget film OUIJA for Universal Pictures, reports Variety.

Originally, the film was set up at Universal Pictures, but then shifted to Paramount Pictures with McG to direct. However, the helmer and studio could never come to a budget agreement, which resulted in Paramount dropping the pic all together. Universal then reacquired the property.

Other than being based on the Hasbro board game, plot details are unknown. The trade says indications are it will be in keeping with the high-concept, low-budget model in vein of the PARNORMAL ACTIVITY franchise.
