Ridley Scott and Steve Zaillian Unite for 'The Day Britain Stopped'

Jul 26, 2012

Ridley Scott and Steve Zaillian are teaming to produce a big-screen version of the BBC's pseudo-documentary The Day Britain Stopped and have it set up at 20th Century Fox, says The Hollwood Reporter.

The trades source stressed that the film would not be a remake but is more inspired by the original, which was written and directed by Gabriel Range.

The made for TV film took place around a fictional disaster, in which a rail train strike is the first in a chain of events that led to a meltdown of the country’s transport system, while Scott and Zaillian are looking into the idea of a man made disaster that ignites a global catastrophe.
