Will Smith to Direct Cain and Abel Film?

We all know about Hollywood's love affair with remakes, as it seems were reporting a new remake, redo, re-imagining on a consistent basis. But recently it's also been about Biblical epics for the studios. We have Darren Aronofsky and Russell Crowe working on NOAH, and both Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott have Moses projects in the works.

Now, comes word from Deadline that Will Smith is eyeing a film about brothers Cain and Abel, in which he's interested in developing as a directing vehicle and may star in the film as well. The site reports the project is set-up at Sony and has gone under the working title of The Redemption Of Cain.

This would be Smith's directorial debut should he jump aboard. Stayed tuned as more news becomes available.
