Moretz is in discussions to play the role of Val opposite her Let Me In co-star Kodi Smitt-McPhee. The film which takes place in Portland, Oregon tells the story of a young boy dealing with the absence of his father.
Shooting is scheduled to begin next month, with Super Crispy, Nicholas Frenkel and Glenn Howarton producing.
Moretz is currently at work on Screen Gems' Carrie remake and will follow that with the Jeff Wadlow directed Kick-Ass 2 for Universal Pictures.
