Eric Bana Joins Cast of 'Lone Survivor'

Eric Bana is talks to join Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch and Taylor Kitsch in director Peter Berg's Lone Survivor, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Berg wrote the screenplay for the action-drama, which chronicles Afghanistan war hero Marcus Luttrell's account of a Navy SEAL mission gone bad.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin next month in New Mexico.

Based on the book by Luttrell, the adaptation tells the harrowing story of how Luttrell and his Navy SEAL team members fought to stay alive after being ambushed in Afghanistan's Hindu Kush mountain region in 2005 by Taliban forces during a covert mission to kill a terrorist leader.

Bana just wrapped Focus Features' suspense thriller Closed Circuit and will next be seen with Olivia Wilde in Deadfall.
