Jake Gyllenhaal Doing 'Mississippi Grind'

Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to join the gambling pic MISSISSIPPI GRIND, a film Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden (Half Nelson) will direct from their own screenplay, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Gyllenhaal will also produce with Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell, as well as former WME agent and Paramount president John Lesher.

According to the trade, the story centers on a "down-on-his-luck gambler facing crushing debt who teams up with a younger gambling addict (Gyllenhaal) in an attempt to change his luck. The two set off on a road trip through the South with visions of winning back what has been lost."

There was no mention who would play the "down-on-his-luck gambler."

Gyllenhaal will be seen next in David Ayer's crime drama End of Watch with Michael Pena and Anna Kendrick.
