Adi Shankar, who is producing through his 1984 Private Defense Contractors company said of Carano, "I don't know how I'm supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of 'The Expendables' without Gina Carano in it. It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba."
Shankar recently co-produced Joe Carnahan's The Grey, Pete Travis' Dredd 3D and the upcoming Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt.
As for Carano, she can next be seen in Fast & Furious 6, as well as In the Blood, both of which are due out next year.
